That said there are (a few) viruses for linux too but in a good setup (ie you don't browse the web and play games as root user ;)) less effective. I mean sure it can destroy some of your data, but it'd be difficult for it to trash your system (unless it uses some buffer overflow or other program errors).
In any case I like to scan my email (on the server) with clamav just to be sure if I open it from my webmail on a windows machine somewhere that I don'T infect ppls pcs ;)) - also keeps away those crappy mails and sticks them straight in the bit-bucket :D

If you really feel the need for a virus scanner on Linux I would recommend NOD32, just from my personal use on Windows OS.

With that being said the only reason I could see you needing any VS is to scan email before it is delivered to the rest of your network, if you would like to fetch emails for your home users.

Unfortunately, as this post indicates, most folks are 'computer operating system illiterate'. They cannot comprehend that 'computer virus' is a misnomer for 'Windows OS virus'. It is not their fault. It is our responsibility, as this poster did, to point out the error in their thinking and spread the good word about Linux.

Somehow the world always ends up with the worst pieces of junk like windoze, while there are better alternatives. I can't imagine ever again using a piece rubbish like windoze and pay for it. Ubuntu is a million lightyears ahead and better that the rubbish you pay for.

Its not just that Ubuntu is free its way better than windows. So y pay for a piece of shit.
